Prakash is the only in his family with the guts to stand up to his sister in law Gayathiri. However, Gayathiri finds out and makes a ruckus. Gayathiri as she runs the family's household expenses). In order to bail Prakash out, Kumar gets money from his wife Gayathiri by lying to her that the money was for his friend ( Kumar usually gives his salary to One of his schemes casues a road fight between him and another guy whom he refuses to pay. One such case is when his friend and him pretend ot be income tax officers at a DSP's house and con the DSP's wife out of money.
He drinks, schemes with his friends to con people out of their money for fun. Prakash is introduced as a character that is irresponsible although he is quite highly educated(He has a masters degree). Thilaga has since given birth and Raju and Thilaga have a son, Kuberan. (Raju beleives that Thilaga was unable to adjust to his sister in law whom he values and thinks badly of her). Raju had also chased his pregnant wife Thilaga out of their house due to Gayathiris scheming. Prakash's second brother Raju is a lazy couch potato whom listens to everything his sister in law Gayathiri says as she is financially supporitng him. Kumar also works but he earns only half of his wife, Gayathiri's salary. Due to this, the rest of the family is forced to put up with her. Gayathiri, whom works a hotel general manager is the main breadwiner of the family after they lost their wealth. Kumar is married to Gayathiri who is a domineering, arrogant and evil (They have a daughter Monisha). Prakash has 2 older brothers Kumar and Raju and a younger sister Ragini. Even the Jaihind Villas hosue is under a court case and may be taken away when he case is over. Now, the only property the family has left is the Jaihind Villas house that he currently resides in wtih his family. Prakash's father whom also goes by Gandhi's principles lost the other half of their wealth in a business loss. His family used to be rich but his ancestors whom follow Gandhi's way gave half their wealth away to charity and the goverment. Gandhi himself has stayed in his family home.
The Jaihind Villas family is a Gandhiyavadhi family. Prakash is the son of Chidambaram and Janaki and part of the Jaihind Villas family.
